So where is Bo'ness?



I get a lot of questions asking me which part of Scotland I come from and I get a lot of confused looks when I say "Bo'ness", so now it's just been relocated to "Edinburgh" or "Just outside Edinburgh", both are technically true.

Bo'ness (or Borrowstouness) is a small town on the banks of the River Forth about 10 miles west of Edinburgh. It's had a long and colourful life, where it has seen a lot of various industries come and go. Now the only industry there is the Bo'ness Iron Co. where various drain covers are made and shipped all over the U.K.

Bo'ness also used to be a major shipping port until the nearby town of Grangemouth took over as a major port, now it just sits empty collecting mud.
